About Louise Stoner Crawford

Lasting social change starts with individuals

Louise Stoner Crawford

For two decades, Louise has successfully shared her unique blend of business-inspired coaching and consulting with nonprofits and social impact organizations.

As the part-time U.S. Managing Director of the $100 million Tunisian American Enterprise Fund (TAEF), Louise oversees TAEF’s relationship with the US government and board management, organizational infrastructure and compliance.

Louise was drawn to the idea of applying business thinking to social impact work while managing a development project in the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt in her job right after college. That experience led her to Stanford Business School where she learned to systematically use business tools and resources to advance social causes.

Louise and her husband Gil live and work in Washington, D.C. A weekly highlight is Tuesday night family dinners with their adult children and friends. Louise loves living close to the Potomac River, where she enjoys walking her dog and weekend bicycle expeditions. Though not an avid gardener, she does love to weed!

Social Impact: Change and Challenge

While the design of social impact organizations may vary—from traditional non-profits to for-profit businesses with a double or triple bottom line—they share challenges like complex stakeholder and accountability structure, competing demands, uncertain funding and a need to pivot.

As innovation in this sector has exploded, the lines between business and non-profit have begun to blur. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs are setting the stage for formal integration of environmental, social and governance concerns.

These are exciting times that will change and challenge nonprofits and the social impact sector. I look forward to working with you to amplify your impact and that of your organization.

“I reached out to Louise while I was assessing my professional goals, and she helped me to define and explore them. Louise had a lot of patience and enthusiasm during each session which, as a result, made me feel confident to use the new strategies and approaches. Since working with her, I have seen tangible results in the way I frame my thoughts and review my professional journey which has been extremely empowering.”
